BULGARIAN FOLKLORE DANCE GROUP

Ludo Mlado is a semi- professional dance troupe based in Boston, MA. Choreographers of the troupe include a former professional dancer from the Bulgarian State Ensemble “Rodopa” and a graduate from the National Choreographic School in Sofia, Bulgaria.
By training dancers and showcasing performances at cultural events, the troupe endeavors to preserve and spread awareness of the rich dance traditions of Bulgaria and the Balkan people. Ludo Mlado performs at weddings, festivals, concerts and wherever the Bulgarian music and dance can bring out unique sensations to the event.

PLETENITSA BALKAN CHOIR

The Pletenitsa Balkan Choir (Áàëêàíñêè õîð Ïëåòåíèöà) was founded by Christiane Karam in 2011, as a means to explore the choral traditions and folk music adaptations of the Balkans, the Middle East, the Caucasus, and parts of the Mediterranean. It is primarily a women's chorus with some arrangements that incorporate male singers as well. It includes and welcomes singers from all over the world, and serves as a platform for cultural exchange, and an opportunity to come together and celebrate the beauty and spirit that connects us all. The Pletenitsa choir has performed to rave reviews in Boston and NY and has shared the stage with the likes of Zulal, Juliana Svetlichnya, Mario Frangoulis, José Mercé, Javier Limon and Binka Dobreva.
ELITSA STOYNEVA

"Elitsa Stoyneva is a seven-time gold medalist folk singer from Targovishte, Bulgaria. She began studying Bulgarian folk singing professionally at the age of 5 and has performed at International and National competitions and concerts throughout Bulgaria as well as in Egypt, Switzerland, Greece, Canada and the United States. While completing her MBA, she directed and performed with the Maine Women’s Balkan Choir, Trio Elitsa, and has been a featured performer at Balkan music festivals. Currently Elitsa lives in the Boston area."

Jasna Duran is a Serbian born Boston based vocalist, composer, arranger and ethnomusicologist. With the focus of bringing together traditions of East and West, her work includes scoring for documentaries, directing vocal ensembles and working with various organizations such as UNESCO in raising awareness and keeping these traditions alive. During her studies at Berklee College of Music, Jasna teamed up with singers and instrumentalist from different countries and musical backgrounds for the purpose of sharing and performing arrangements of Balkan music, as well as notating different ways of teaching these vocal styles.
SNEJINA PENCHEVA (www.youtube.com/user/TheSnowJane) loves to sing and has been singing professionally for 30 years, in all different kinds of music genres from pop, rock to Bulgarian and International folk. She graduated music high school. She started to learn singing and classical guitar at the age of six. She graduated the University in Shumen (Bulgaria) with the “Music Pedagogy” major. With her rich repertoire and beautiful voice she performed in many international cultural events in Germany, Holland, France, Poland, Chech Repubilc, Hungary, Russia, Turkey and now in the USA.

TRIO BALKAN & ELENA MANCHEVA
Trio Balkan, featuring vocalist Elena Mancheva,
is a Boston-based band, formed in 2013 by seasoned veterans of Balkan folk music. The group performs throughout New England, New York and New Jersey. The musicians specialize in genuine Balkan folk music that embraces the rich music heritage from various countries in that part of Europe. The musicians are from Bulgaria, Macedonia and Serbia, which gives the performances a specific flavor of the mixed musical heritage and plays an important role in the performances.
Bulgarian-American Cultural Center Madara is an organization created solely for the purpose of popularizing Bulgarian culture in the USA . Its mission is to establish intersociety dialogue by means of culture, arts, education, economy and to organize intercultural programs and events to bring people from different walks of life together. It serves the sizeable Bulgarian community in the Boston, MA and New York, NY areas. With the help of many volunteers, the center produced and supported several cultural events, such as concerts and performances by established Bulgarian artists, performers and actors; Annual Bulgarian Cultural Festival; lectures; music classes and more. www.centermadara.org
The Bulgarian Center of New England (BCNE) is a nonprofit organization, whose mission is to serve as a focal point of the Bulgarian community in New England and attract people from different backgrounds who have interest in the Bulgarian culture, art, history, and traditions.
